Mamelodi, Gauteng
The Wayne Mathew Naidoo Foundation has opened its second library at Tlakukani Primary School in Mamelodi, Pretoria. A R91,000 investment that will serve 586 learners.
This is more than shelves and books. It is a space where children can grow their confidence, strengthen their reading skills, and discover what is possible when opportunity meets support.
At the opening, the Department of Education announced that the school will now dedicate one hour every day to reading. A meaningful step toward building a culture of literacy that lasts.
We also launched the first Wayne Mathew Naidoo Literacy Competition to reward learners who read the most books and encourage a lasting love for learning.
Wayne believed in building people.
This library is another chapter in that promise.
